Julian Rowa is a Banker of many years’ experience having grown in rank and file. His professional development has seen him evolve from a typical transactional resource person, to a tactical intervener in middle and senior management before advancing to a strategic space as Head of Function/s. Priding himself as a Pan-African talent, his stint in Uganda and Rwanda and studies at Oxford Brookes University and University of Liverpool (UK) for his Masters and Doctorate degree respectively heightened his multi-faceted approach to problem solving. His critical thinking and unassuming outlook to issues is without peers. Julian has served at Barclays Kenya (Now Absa), Stanbic Bank, Consolidated Bank, Equity Bank Rwanda and an international development NGO by name Carolina for Kibera as Executive Director.
As a consultant, Julian Rowa is passionate about driving change, thrives in a state of chaos and is a stickler for rapid results guided by the dictum “why do we…….?” and “what if……?” His area of expertise includes but is not limited to organizational analysis, strategy development, strategic human resource management anchored in innovation and change, business development, knowledge creation, research, development of new business ventures, public speaking, operational excellence, facilitation, moderation and entrepreneurship.
Julian Rowa views himself as a practical “academic”, a scholar practitioner intent on bridging the gap between theory and practice in a well-designed cycle of knowledge creation and management for continuous improvements. He subscribes to operational rigor and business excellence but more important, problem solving. When not in a working or reading mode, Mr. Rowa enjoys a quiet time with his loving wife, two adorable daughters and son, a gym fanatic with a love for boxing.
